Originally Lovering's clay dry, The Nest now sits proudly in its place elevated above the village centre. The historic chimney still remains as part of the village landscape. There are various pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance, with the backdrop of the 18th century harbour. Charlestown has become a popular location for food lovers, perhaps begin your evening at The Longstore which offers fantastic steak and seafood, before popping down to The Wine Store to sample some amazing wines from around the world. For lazy mornings, there are some great cafes dotted around the village, for that important morning coffee or brunch! There are also various pop ups (seasonal) along the harbour which makes for a bustling and happy atmosphere. If you prefer a scenic walk, the ever popular South West Coast Path runs through St Austell Bay, encompassing the harbourside villages of Charlestown and Mevagissey. The world famous Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are both just a short drive away, as are countless wonderful beaches to enjoy.
